The poets employ this construction with verbs of cleansing (a form of depriving): χρόα νίζετο ἅλμην he was washing the brine from his skin ζ 224, αἷμα κάθηρον Σαρπηδόνα cleanse the blood from Sarpedon II 667. And with other verbs (in tragedy), e.g. τι_μωρεῖσθαι avenge on, μετελθεῖν seek to avenge on, μετιέναι execute judgment on, ἐπισκήπτειν charge.
