Predicate Use.—ἦν δ' αὐτῶν Φαλῖνος and among them was Phalinus X. A. 2.1.7, Σόλων τῶν ἑπτὰ σοφιστῶν ἐκλήθη Solon was called one of the Seven Sages I. 15.235, τῶν ἀτοπωτάτων ἂν εἴη it would be very strange D. 1.26; and often with verbs signifying to be, become, think, say, name, choose. With some of these verbs εἷς with the genitive may be used instead of the genitive alone.
