The use of μή and μὴ οὐ with the subjunctive is different from that with the infinitive.

a. In doubtful assertions ( cross1801- cross1802) expressing anxiety, suspicion, surmise, μή is used of that which may be true, μὴ οὐ of that which may not be true.

b. After verbs of fear and caution, where μή means lest, μὴ οὐ means lest not, that not ( cross2221, cross2225).
